Life direction through life skills
Moral Compass is an outdoor education initiative, designed to teach hunting, survival and life skills.
It is also a mentoring programme, developing essential character traits to survive and thrive through life’s challenges.
Welcome to Moral Compass
Moral Compass is a charitable organisation based in the Canterbury region of New Zealand that endeavours to identify need in the community through partnership and relationship.
New Zealand has many vulnerable young people; most of these adolescents are unequipped to face the challenges thrown their way. They find themselves making decisions based on limited information, taking advice from peers with often little or no support from trusted adults. If you find yourself struggling with mental health and need someone to talk to, call 1737 on 1737 or YouthLine on 0800 376 633.
Peter Reynolds (Razor), founder of Moral Compass says, “I learnt as a British Army Paratrooper that we all have a moral compass, in spite of where we’ve come from or the decisions we’ve made. I would like to pass on my knowledge and experience to help resource young people to succeed, no matter how difficult their current circumstances are”.
Along with teaching practical skills, Moral Compass is designed to give hope to struggling youth and show them there is more to life than fast food, alcohol and drugs. By giving young people a structured outdoor experience with highly-trained adults, the aim is to help them develop their moral compass so they can begin positively building towards their future.
Life has its ups and downs. We believe it is important not to pretend we are or have to be perfect in any way. That’s why we wanted and are happy to have a bloopers section for Moral Compass. Sometimes we just need to have a laugh and move then move on. So join us for a cuppa and a laugh… Moral Compass Bloopers

Shout Out
At moral compass we love to support the youth of Aotearoa however on this occasion MYJR has supported us by designing the moral compass cap logo.
MYJR started “Art by MYJR” after she painted a couple of bird pictures for a friends 11-year-old son who had been battling cancer. She then came up with the idea that she could sell her prints with part of the proceeds going to the family and their Make a Wish. MYJR set a personal goal of $1000 towards this and she is almost there.
MYJR has now started to make prints of some of her new art pieces to sell. Her style is mixed media with a love for using a combination of acrylic paints and watercolours, pens and digital design. She is currently working on a few commission pieces and working with Moral compass is something that alines with her own morals. Being given the opportunity to create a Logo for such a wonderful organisation is a pleasure. Myjr is excited to be working on more art pieces that will be displayed and available to purchase at the Windsor gallery in the near future.
Please check out her Facebook page and support MYJR by hitting like and share. MYJR art is for sale so please take a look and buy a beautiful print.
